Zamboanga City Health Office serves a population of 680,486 covering 98 barangays spread over a land area of 148,338 hectares.
Under the local government structures, the City Health Office is a line-department that exercises supervision over the health services components:
a. Health Services Administration
b. Implements programs for disease control in the City
c. Prevents and/or controls communicable diseases through Immunization, health education and information, environmental protection including food, water housing and public places sanitation.
d. Implements programs on Comprehensive Maternal and Child Health including:
d.1. Expanded Program on Immunization
d.2. Environmental and Food Sanitation (including Markets &
Slaughterhouses)
d.3. Control of Diarrheal
d.4. Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control
d.5. Malaria and Dengue Control
d.6. Control of Acute Respiratory Infection
d.7. Control of Cardiovascular Diseases
d.8. Dental and Health Protection
d.9. Control of Sexual Transmitted Diseases (including HIV)
d.10. Diabetes Control Program
d.11. Nephrology Program
d.12. Nutrition (thru Primary Health Care)
d.13. Family Planning,
e. General Health Services pertaining to hospital administration and supervision that are wholly funded by LGU
f. Sanitary inspection to enforce all health laws decrees city ordinances and other rules and policies.
g. Inter-agency coordination on health programs and projects for both Government agencies and NGOs
