Historical Background

The word "Baluno" came from a tropical fruit tree "baluno".  In the early civilization, there was a very big baluno tree in the barangay, which hunters and inhabitants used as reference point in going and meeting others for hunting purposes.  Until such time, it became popular and familiar to the inhabitants and they became accustomed to calling the place "Baluno".

Description

The geographical location is mountainous but the soil is very fertile and suitable for planting vegetables and agricultural products such as coconut, abaca, banana and fruit-bearing trees such as durian, mangoes, lansones, marang and others.
