Historical Background

Long time ago, there lived a couple on this unknown island.  The man was named Sacol and his wife was Islan.

This couple lived happily with their four children, namely: Pasil, Busay and the twins Landang Laum and Landang Gua. Among the children, Pasil was the eldest.  When Sacol was very old, he decided to divide the island among his children and named each part after each child.

One day, Pasil fell in love with a beautiful woman named Manta.  Few years later, the couple got married.  They alsohad four children whose names are Tagumbuk, Camias, Mumpong and Kalusugan.

After the death of the couple, people named the island after them.

Pasilmanta is one of the four barangays on Sacol Islands.

Barangay Fiesta Fiestas are not celebrated since inhabitants are Muslims.  Instead, festivities are observed during Hariraya Ei'dil Fitri as the culmination of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
