Mayor Beng Climaco has ordered the Zamboanga City Police Office and Task Force Zamboanga to conduct assessments of checkpoint deployments for greater effectiveness on security.
This, even as Western Mindanao Command chief MGen. Carlito Galvez Jr. committed to exhaust all measures to strengthen security in Zamboanga Highways.
By virtue of the mayor’s directive and in consultation with former TFZ chief Col. Juvymax Uy and TFZ-OIC Col. Bagnus Gaerlan, the Putik checkpoint readjusted to a more conducive area for greater production with buffer area for Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Units (CAFGU).
The mayor likewise requested readjustments of the Marine detachment, all of which, she referred to the security commanders for implementation. “We will abide by the Commanders’ call.”
The chief executive stressed that a vital part of the responsibility will come from the barangays to which the TFZ has been tasked to dialogue with.
“Everyone’s support is enjoined,” she added.
